Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Culpeper, VA is seeking a Behavior Technician II to support individuals with IDD and mental health challenges in our Youth Crisis Therapeutic Home. This part-time role offers weekend hours: Saturdays and Sundays from 7am to 7pm, with competitive pay and a supportive clinical team.

You will deliver daily programs, therapeutic interventions, and personal care assistance, coordinating with professionals, crisis services, and families to ensure safe, consistent care.

Qualifications

• Experience working with IDD and behavioral health disorders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or QMHP trainee status.
• Ability to obtain QMHP trainee status within 30 days of hire; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily programs and rehabilitative activities.
• Provide therapeutic interventions and support for personal care.
• Collaborate with primary care providers, crisis services, and families.

Schedule

Part‑Time: Saturday & Sunday 7a-7pm

Your Role in Our Mission

As a Behavior Technician II (BT), your days will be spent equipping individuals with the tools, coping skills and support to prevent hospitalization and crisis. Responsibilities include facilitating daily programs and rehabilitative activities, providing therapeutic interventions, and assisting with personal care. As a member of the REACH team, you will work closely with participants’ primary care providers, community crisis services, and families to ensure comprehensive support for those referred to the home.

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive Rate: $21 – $24 / hr based on experience
• Paid training: CPR / first‑aid, Mindset, Medication Administration, Infectious Disease, Seizure Management, and QMHP‑T supervision!
• Receive a sign‑on and retention bonus paid at 3, 6, and 12 months (full‑time new hires only). Plus, additional yearly stipends provided as grant funding permits!!

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with IDD/Behavioral Health (BH) disorders required
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Service field of study, or QMHP (trainee), or
  • The ability to register as a Qualified Mental Health Professional Trainee and be approved within 30 days of hire
• Maintain valid state appropriate driver’s license and auto insurance for personal and agency vehicles utilized for work
