Job summary

CPMCARES is seeking an Assistant Behavioral Specialist to implement positive behavioral support plans and provide training to staff in group homes. You will work with supervising behaviorists to ensure program fidelity and data-driven progress.

The role involves on-site support in residential settings, documentation, and collaboration with the care team. Strong communication and crisis-management skills are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with patients and individuals with special needs.
• Good communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to handle intense emotional situations.
• Ability to apply behavioral principles.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and/or virtual training to staff on implementation of Behavior Plans after training by Supervising Behaviorists.
• Maintain training documentation with staff signatures and dates.
• Maintain informed consents for medications and restrictive/aversive consents.
• Ensure quarterly compliance with approved restrictions and notify Behaviorist if non-compliant.
• Oversee data collection, review data monthly, and set up behavior plans in Therap for staff input.
• Attend designated meetings virtually or in-person as needed.
• Prepare behavioral reports and oversee documentation for committee submissions.
• Liaise with Medication provider and support group homes and day programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Behaviorists.
