Job summary

Partners For Community is seeking an Assistant Behavioral Specialist to support the design and implementation of comprehensive behavioral programs. The role involves training staff on Behavior Plans, overseeing data collection and monthly reviews, and coordinating with supervising behaviorists.

You will participate in meetings, maintain documentation for consents and compliance, and provide on-site support at group homes and the day program.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and/or virtual training to staff on implementing Behavior Plans after training by Supervising Behaviorists.
• Maintain training documentation with staff signatures, dates, and topics.
• Keep informed consents for medications and restrictive/aversive approvals as required.
• Ensure quarterly compliance with approved restrictive conditions and report non-compliance promptly.
• Oversee data collection and review in Therap, including graphing data and setting up behavior plans.
• Attend individual/team meetings virtually or in-person as needed.
• Attend psychiatric review meetings as needed.
• Prepare behavioral reports and quarterly submissions to behaviorist.
• Prepare, maintain, and oversee PRC, HRC, and URR documentation for submission to behaviorist.
• Review client records to summarize needs and coordinate with Behaviorist.
• Assist with agency licensing and audit processes.
• Coordinate with Medication providers and support on-site at group homes and day programs.

Job description

SUMMARY

The position of Assistant Behavioral Specialist will implement comprehensive positive behavioral support plans and effective behavior management strategies; deliver instructions; participate as a member of the educational team and help design and implement all components of the individual's program. Assistant Behavioral Support Specialist will receive training and periodic supervisory oversight to ensure understanding of duty requirements by agency behaviorists.

REQUIREMENTS

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide on-site and/or virtual training to staff on the implementation of Behavior Plans after being trained by Supervising Behaviorists using a pyramidal model (train the trainer model).
• Maintain training documentation with staff signatures, date, and subject/copy of training.
• Maintain informed consents for all meds prescribed by a psychiatrist as well as restrictive and aversive consents yearly or as needed.
• Ensure compliance with approved restrictive conditions quarterly, when visiting a home/program. If home or program is out of compliance, immediate notification to the respective Behaviorist is required.
• Data collection oversight. Review of data monthly in Therap, graph data monthly, setting up behavior plans and target behaviors in Therap for staff to input data.
• Attend designated individual/team meetings virtually or in-person as needed.
• Attend psychiatric review meetings as needed.
• Prepare and submit behavioral reports to include quarterly reports to behaviorist.
• Prepare, maintain, and oversee Program Review Committee (PRC) documentation/process for submission to behaviorist.
• Prepare, maintain, and oversee Human Rights Committee (HRC) documentation/process for submission to behaviorist.
• Prepare, maintain, and oversee Utilization Resource Review (URR) documentation/process for submission to behaviorist.
• Review of client record and develop a synopsis of need areas and submit to Behaviorist.
• Assist with agency licensing preparation and audit processes.
• Psychiatric Review Board compliance liaison.
• Added support for other complex cases.
• Check ins and documentation of progress with individual who have behavior supports.
• Liaison with the Medication provider.
• Provide support on site at the group homes and day program.
• Other duties as assigned by the Behaviorists.
