Job summary

The Baker Center for Children and Families in Boston is seeking a Classroom Behavior Specialist/Milieu Counselor to support students with behavioral needs using evidence-based strategies. You will model positive social interactions, supervise students, and intervene during behavioral dysregulation to promote a respectful learning environment.

Qualifications include a preferred Bachelor’s Degree and at least 1 year of related experience with children/adolescents.

• Strong communication, behavioral support skills, empathy, and curiosity.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• Support students using positive behavior interventions and data-driven strategies.
• Collect and analyze daily behavioral data and maintain attendance and lunch counts.
• Collaborate with a three-person classroom team to implement behavior support plans.
• Provide crisis intervention and employ safe, CPI-aligned techniques when needed.
