Job summary

You will work under the Behavior Intervention Teacher in general and special education settings, providing individual or small-group support and promoting a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Experience supporting behavior intervention plans and classroom interventions.
• Ability to work with students in general and/or special education settings.
• Maintain confidentiality and communicate professionally with staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing behavior/success plans for students with behavioral challenges.
• Support the educational process by working with students in general and/or special education settings.
• Reinforce social, emotional, and behavioral goals developed by the instructional team.
• Collect, maintain, and monitor behavior data as directed by the Behavior Intervention Teacher.
• Observe students to provide input and feedback on progress.
• Provide individual or small group support for students to practice social and behavioral strategies.
• Promote a positive classroom and school environment to increase learning opportunities.
• Participate in meetings and professional development activities.
• Encourage parent involvement by supporting communication efforts of the teacher and staff.
• Supervise students to help maintain safety and order.
• Follow board policies and confidentiality requirements.
