Job summary

Broward County Public Schools seeks a Behavior Technician to support students requiring behavioral intervention by implementing specific plans in individual, small group, or classroom settings to ensure safety and dignity for students and staff.

You will collect data, assist with Functional Behavioral Assessments, help develop and implement behavior support plans, monitor progress, and collaborate with staff to apply interventions consistently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience working with behaviorally complex children.
• An earned associate degree or 60-degree credits with minimum of two (2) years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect data within the school environment.
• Assist in data gathering for Functional Behavior Assessments.
• Assist in development and implementation of behavioral programs, including behavioral support plans and BIPs.
• Assist staff in techniques needed to implement behavioral systems.
• Assist in shaping and teaching appropriate behavior to students.
• Monitor data and share recommendations for intervention with staff.
• Monitor/supervise a student or small group of assigned students in need of behavioral intervention.
