Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital seeks a Unit Coordinator to support Behavioral Health nursing units. Shift 7:00am–3:30pm, 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week), every other weekend required.

Rate starts at $19.10/hour with potential for higher pay based on relevant exp., plus shift additional $1.80 for weekend differential. Under RN supervision, you will perform secretarial and environmental tasks, monitor patient charts, operate communication systems, assist with admissions and transfers, and help keep

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, with preferred unit coordinator/clerk course.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Prior health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain patient charts and medical records.
• Operate telephone, paging system, pneumatic tube, and other communication devices.
• Assist with admission, registration, transfer, transport, and discharge of patients.
• Maintain unit and office supplies; manage ordering and stock.
• Coordinate transport of medications from Pharmacy to practitioners or to secured storage.
• Initiate Code Blue/Medical Assist/ACT and communicate required information to staff.
• Act as preceptor for orientation and training of Unit Coordinator staff.
