Job summary

Charlotte Behavioral Health Care in Punta Gorda, FL is hiring a full-time Behavioral Health Technician to support adult and adolescent patients on a 24/7 unit. You will respond to supervisors, lead BHTs, and the charge nurse to monitor safety and assist with patient care and documentation in the EHR.

Responsibilities include leading groups, intake/admission tasks, safety searches, vital signs, de‑escalation, HIPAA compliance, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience interacting directly with individuals in a behavioral health setting.
• Ability to manage stressful situations with appropriate boundaries and professional conduct.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Respond to supervisor, lead BHT, and charge nurse on duty to monitor safety.
• Assist with patient care and record progress in the EHR.
• Lead therapeutic groups and leisure/exercise activities.
• Complete intake/admission processes including safety checks and consents.
• Obtain vital signs and perform routine unit tasks; HIPAA compliance.
• Engage in de‑escalation, Handle with Care interventions when needed.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; maintain patient confidentiality.
