Job summary

Highlands Behavioral Health System is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to oversee the milieu, facilitate group therapy, assist in daily living activities, and maintain a safe environment under nurse supervision. The role includes a $4,000 sign-on bonus with commitment and opportunities for advancement through the BHT Career Ladder.

Shift differentials apply, including higher rates for evening and weekend hours. Bilingual staff may earn an extra $1 per hour after language assessment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in human services field preferred.
• Two+ years of education focused on nursing, psychology, social service, medicine or related field or completion of EMT, CNA, Medical Assistant, Security Training program or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year relevant experience preferred.
• Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state.
• CPR certification within 30 days of employment and successful completion of training in Handle with Care.
• Certification training may be obtained during new hire orientation.

Responsibilities

• Consistently provides supervision for assigned patients.
• Facilitate psycho-educational groups.
• Clearly documents observations of patient behavior.
• Performs basic housekeeping tasks required to maintain patient living areas.
• Ensures safety of patient at all times.
