Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center in Norfolk, VA is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to help manage daily residential operations, overseeing intake, supervision, events, transportation, meals, and medications.

You will train and support the BHT team, ensure safety and compliance with center policies, and foster a warm, dignified recovery environment for clients.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license and CPR certification preferred.
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety is required.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Warm, empathetic personality with ability to set firm boundaries.
• Dignified, honest character which models recovery principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage all daily residential operations (Intake, supervision, events, transportation, food service, medications etc.).
• Train and support BHT team in all operations and responsibilities.
• Escalate any concerns or crises to Lead Behavioral Health Technician.
• Oversee client engagement and morale, maintaining a warm and positive recovery environment.
• Ensure client and BHT compliance to all Avenues rules, policies and procedures.
