Job summary

Pyramid Healthcare in Newport News is seeking dedicated Behavioral Health Technicians to join our team. This full-time role provides direct care to individuals on their recovery journey in a structured, therapeutic environment, with a 3:00 PM–11:00 PM schedule and a pay rate of $15.00 per hour.

The BHT supports safe, supportive treatment, assists with intake, coordinates activities, and communicates with the team to ensure adherence to individualized plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous behavioral health or human services experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with the intake and admission process for new clients
• Communicate effectively with team members through verbal updates and written documentation
• Provide direct client support and actively listen to treatment needs
• Maintain a structured, safe, and therapeutic environment, including crisis intervention when necessary
• Coordinate and facilitate scheduled activities, including educational lectures, recreation, and group meetings
• Conduct mandatory bed checks and complete detailed shift reports
• Participate in shift changes, team meetings, and company meetings
• Ensure clients follow daily schedules and treatment plans
• Monitor the medication line in accordance with policy
• Transport clients to meetings, appointments, and recreational activities as needed
