Job summary

Pyramid Healthcare in Newport News, VA is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support clients in recovery within a structured, therapeutic setting. This full-time role involves direct client care, adherence to individualized treatment plans, and ensuring a safe environment.

The position offers a 3:00 PM–11:00 PM schedule, pay of $15.00 per hour, and a benefits package as part of total rewards for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous behavioral health or human services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with intake/admission for new clients.
• Communicate effectively with team via verbal updates and written documentation.
• Provide direct client support and actively listen to treatment needs.
• Maintain a structured, safe, therapeutic environment, including crisis intervention when necessary.
• Coordinate and facilitate scheduled activities, including educational lectures, recreation, and group meetings.
• Conduct bed checks and complete detailed shift reports.
• Participate in shift changes, team meetings, and company meetings.
• Ensure clients follow daily schedules and treatment plans.
• Monitor the medication line in accordance with policy.
• Transport clients to meetings, appointments, and recreational activities as needed.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist with the intake and admission process for new clients
