Job summary

Montgomery Medical Center, part of MedStar Health, is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support behavioral health patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role focuses on de-escalation, monitoring and compassionate direct patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2 years' experience in mental health/addictions.
• At least 6 months hospital/behavioral health experience if holding an Associate's degree.
• Current CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition and behavior.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive care environment.
• Assist with documentation and meal distribution as needed.
• Assist with transport and basic patient care tasks.

Education

Associate degree OR 2 years' experience in mental health/addictions field.

Minimum 6 months equivalent experience in hospital/behavioral health setting for those with an Associate’s degree.

CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).
