Job summary

STR Behavioral Health is seeking Behavioral Health Technicians to support clients with mental health needs, maintain a therapeutic milieu, and document care in client records. You will work closely with the clinical team to implement interventions, supervise activities, and promote safety and compliance.

The role involves conducting screenings, assisting with ADLs, meals, transportation, and crisis response.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ year experience with clients with mental health issues.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
• TB clearance required.
• Willing to complete BHT and CPI training within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clinical team to determine interventions based on client needs.
• Engage clients in milieu and activities throughout the day.
• Prompt ADLs, hygiene, laundry, and perform room hygiene checks.
• Conduct drug screening, pregnancy tests, and breathalyzers as needed.
• Supervise meals and model appropriate table manners.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment in collaboration with staff.
• Interact therapeutically in one-to-one, group, and community settings.
• Facilitate client education groups with clinical team.
• React therapeutically in crisis situations and de-escalate when needed.
• Document services, incident reports, and shift notes timely.
• Follow safety procedures including drills and disaster plans.
• Perform vehicle safety checks and report concerns.
• Support medication compliance and self-administration.
• Prepare for client admissions and complete intake documentation.
