Job summary

Vitruvian Health seeks a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support licensed clinicians in clinical, residential, or outpatient settings. The role focuses on monitoring patients' moods and vital signs, and assisting with treatment plans and safety.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, with preferred further education in psychology or social work, and experience in mental health or substance abuse treatment. CPR/First Aid and crisis intervention training are often required.

Qualifications

• Education: A High School Diploma or GED is the standard baseline.
• Experience: Prior experience in substance abuse treatment, mental health, or developmental disabilities is highly desired.
• Certifications: CPR/First Aid certification and specialized crisis intervention training are common requirements.

Responsibilities

• Patient Monitoring: Closely observe and document patients' moods, behaviors, and vital signs, reporting changes to medical staff.
• Crisis Intervention: Safely de‑escalate distressed individuals and manage psychiatric emergencies.
• Therapeutic Support: Provide emotional support and assist with coping strategies and group sessions.
• Daily Living Assistance: Guide patients through activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Clinical Collaboration: Assist with intake and discharge to maintain a safe environment.
