Chesapeake Regional Healthcare is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to work collaboratively with nurses and clinicians in caring for patients with mental health or substance use challenges. The role includes direct patient care, monitoring during activities, and contributing to safety and therapeutic milieu.

The position requires a high school diploma, 1 year of related care experience, and BLS certification with onboarding within 90 days if needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of care partner/CNA or similar role experience preferred.
• BLS certification required; must obtain within 90 days if not current on hire.

Responsabilités

• Develop therapeutic relationships with behavioral health patients and assist in monitoring during activities or groups.
• Assist with ADLs such as meals, bathing, oral care, and ambulation.
• Respond to call lights promptly and participate in patient safety initiatives.
• Perform routine nursing support tasks including vitals, blood glucose monitoring, and early notification of changes to nurses.
• Assist with documentation in the electronic medical record and coordinate scheduling of services.
• Support staff through training activities and care routines within scope of role.
• Participate in crisis de-escalation and implementation of safety procedures.
