Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician for its new inpatient detox and residential facility in Richmond, VA. The role focuses on day-to-day residential operations, client engagement, and ensuring adherence to program rules.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and CPR certification preferred, with sobriety required for those in recovery. Strong leadership and empathetic interpersonal skills are essential.

• Valid driver’s license and CPR certification preferred.
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety is required.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Warm, empathetic personality with ability to set firm boundaries.
• Dignified, honest character which models recovery principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage all daily residential operations (i.e. Intake, supervision, events, transportation, food service, medications etc.).
• Train and support BHT team in all operations and responsibilities
• Escalate any concerns or crises to Lead Behavioral Health Technician
• Oversee client engagement and morale, maintaining a warm and positive recovery environment
• Ensure client and BHT compliance to all Avenues rules, policies and procedures

What You’ll Do
