Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician for our new inpatient detox and residential facility in Richmond, Virginia. You will manage daily residential operations, supervise the BHT team, and help maintain a warm, supportive recovery environment for clients.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, CPR certification, and a year of sobriety if in recovery.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and CPR certification preferred.
• Minimum one year of sobriety if in recovery.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Warm, empathetic personality with ability to set firm boundaries.
• Dignified, honest character modeling recovery principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily residential operations (intake, supervision, events, transportation, food service, medications).
• Train and support BHT team in all operations and responsibilities.
• Escalate concerns or crises to Lead Behavioral Health Technician.
• Oversee client engagement and morale, maintaining a warm recovery environment.
• Ensure client and BHT compliance with all Avenues rules and policies.

What You'll Do

• Manage all daily residential operations (i.e. Intake, supervision, events, transportation, food service, medications etc.)
• Train and support BHT team in all operations and responsibilities
• Escalate any concerns or crises to Lead Behavioral Health Technician
• Oversee client engagement and morale, maintaining a warm and positive recovery environment
• Ensure client and BHT compliance to all Avenues rules, policies and procedures

What We're Looking For

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Valid driver's license and CPR certification preferred
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety is required.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
