Job summary

Milestone Addiction Treatment is seeking a dependable Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support individuals in treatment for substance use and mental health conditions. The BHT will monitor client safety, provide structured support, and help maintain a calm, therapeutic environment.

This hands-on role requires building rapport with clients while upholding professional boundaries, HIPAA compliance, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support recovery goals.

Qualifications

• Experience or education in behavioral health, substance use treatment, mental health, or related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries while building rapport.

Responsibilities

• Monitor client safety and well-being throughout the treatment environment.
• Provide day-to-day support, structure, and encouragement to clients in recovery.
• Recognize behaviors and warning signs related to substance use and relapse.
• Assist with client admissions and intake paperwork.
• Support clients considering leaving treatment against medical advice and follow procedures.
• Observe medication administration per policies.
• Conduct scheduled and randomized drug screenings and breathalyzer testing.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client activity, incidents, and progress.
• Transport clients as needed and follow transportation procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries while working with clients.
• Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to support continuity of care.
• Complete additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
