Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to provide direct support and supervision in inpatient behavioral health, mental health, and substance use treatment programs. The role emphasizes patient safety, engagement, and daily operational support within a structured, therapeutic environment.

The BHT works closely with clinicians and staff to observe behaviors, document observations, and communicate concerns, contributing to a recovery-focused milieu

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Active addiction related certification preferred.
• Behavioral health certification or related education preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, or mental health settings desirable.

Responsabilités

• Provide continuous patient supervision and conduct safety checks.
• Monitor patient behavior and environmental conditions; document observations and report concerns.
• Respond to crisis situations using de-escalation techniques and follow protocols.
• Ensure adherence to facility rules while maintaining a therapeutic approach.
• Measure vital signs and perform CLIA-waived testing (urine drug screens and pregnancy tests).
• Supervise medication self-administration where permitted by policy and regulations.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, patient movement, and group activities.
• Support patient engagement in treatment and daily routines within the milieu.
• Communicate patient information to supervisors and treatment teams to support coordinated care.
