Job summary

SUN Behavioral Columbus is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a RN or LPN/LVN. Responsibilities include observing patients, recording vital signs, and assisting with ADLs in a safe environment.

The role requires CPR and de-escalation certification, a high school diploma or GED, and preferably CNA certification. Experience in healthcare and familiarity with EHR is a plus; on-site position with a focus on teamwork and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR and de-escalation technique certification required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Record vital signs and intake/output; notify RN of changes.
• Monitor patient behavior and mental status; report changes.
• Escort patients for activities, meals, visitation, and tests.
• Assist with patient safety checks and apply restraints under RN direction using CPI.
• Document in EHR and Nursing Assessment Form; participate in team meetings.
• Provide general nursing care including ADLs and transfers.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and report hazards.
