CenterPoint Health - Paris is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support the Behavioral Health, Adult unit. Under RN supervision, you will assist in delivering patient care and monitor safety in a structured setting.

This PRN night position requires flexible scheduling; attends to daily living activities, follows treatment plans, participates in crisis intervention, and communicates progress to the care team. Eligible benefits and career growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Nursing Assistant Certificate (SRNA/CNA) preferred.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Handle with Care certification required within 7 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of an RN, assists in assuring optimal patient care.
• Observe patients closely, document behaviors, and ensure a safe, secure environment.
• Assist patients with hygiene, meals, routines, and basic care needs.
• Follow care plans developed by clinicians, including leading or supporting therapeutic activities.
• Record patient progress and communicate updates to nurses, therapists, and the care team.

How you'll contribute

A Behavioral Health Technician who excels in this role:

• Under the supervision of an RN, assists in assuring optimal patient care.
• Patient Monitoring & Safety: Observe patients closely, document behaviors, and ensure a safe, secure environment.
• Support Daily Living Activities: Assist patients with hygiene, meals, routines, and basic care needs.
• Implement Treatment Plans: Follow care plans developed by clinicians, including leading or supporting therapeutic activities.
• Crisis Intervention: De-escalate situations and respond appropriately to behavioral or emotional crises.
