Job summary

Centerpoint Health - Paris is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Medical‑Surgical, PRN nights. The 16‑bed Med/Surg unit is remote-telemetry capable, supporting higher‑acuity care in a collaborative environment.

A Kentucky or compact RN license and an Associate’s Degree in Nursing are required, with a Bachelor’s Degree preferred and BLS within 30 days of hire. The position involves coordinating care, teaching patients and families, and working with physicians and other hospital staff to deliver

Responsibilities

• Coordinates total nursing care for patients and acts as patient advocate as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Sets goals and prescribes nursing interventions to meet physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs.
• Develops and revises individual nursing care plans and implements them.
• Evaluates patient care outcomes and collaborates with physicians and other staff.
• Administers medications, treatments, and therapies.
• Communicates with patients and oversees provision of care.

The Centerpoint Health - Paris - formerly Bourbon Community Hospital - is a 58‑bed acute care facility in the heart of the Bluegrass. The medical staff consists of 140 physicians covering 22 specialties. Centerpoint Health - Paris also offers services in Behavioral Health including a 33‑bed inpatient facility. Our multi‑disciplinary approach includes psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, therapists, nurses, social workers, mental health technicians, recreation therapists, and Kentucky certified teachers. Our Behavioral Health department also utilizes certified therapy dogs in the healing process when applicable.

The Med/Surg unit at Centerpoint - Paris is a 16‑bed department that provides comprehensive, patient‑centered care across a wide range of medical and surgical needs. The unit is fully remote‑telemetry capable, allowing nurses to closely monitor patients and support higher‑acuity care in a collaborative environment.

How you’ll contribute:

• This position coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, acts as a patient advocate and works as part of a team with ancillary and non‑nursing departments.
• Assess the patient’s condition and nursing care needs.
• Sets goals and prescribes appropriate nursing interventions to meet physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs of patients.
• Develops individual nursing care plans.
• Implements care plans and makes revisions as needed.
• Evaluates patient care outcomes.
• Collaborates with physicians and other hospital employees.
• Administers medications, treatments and therapies.
• Communicates with patients and oversees provision of care.
