Job summary

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a Full-Time Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) for the 2nd shift at Silvermist Poconos, Lake Ariel, PA. The role involves supporting clients in a structured behavioral health program, assisting with intake, monitoring logs, and maintaining safety on shift.

Previous experience is preferred but not required. You will collaborate with the treatment team to ensure treatment plans are followed and clients stay on schedule, while contributing to a supportive recovery

Responsibilities

• Assist with intake for new clients entering the program.
• Interact positively with clients and support their treatment experience.
• Maintain accurate client logs and shift communication records.
• Listen and respond to client concerns and needs.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic environment.
• Assist with crisis intervention as appropriate.
• Coordinate and support client activities and programming.
• Ensure clients follow daily treatment schedules.
• Support treatment plan objectives and progress notes.
• Conduct bed checks and complete shift documentation.
• Monitor medication lines and maintain an organized medication process.
• Communicate concerns to clinical staff promptly.

Silvermist Poconos, part of Pyramid Healthcare, is seeking a Full-Time Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our team on 2nd shift.

The BHT plays an important role in creating a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for clients receiving behavioral health and substance use treatment. You will work closely with clients throughout their daily treatment programming, provide support and encouragement, and help maintain a structured environment that promotes recovery.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping others and wants to build experience in the behavioral health and addiction treatment field. Previous behavioral health experience is preferred but not required.

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-Time, 2nd Shift
• 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
• $17.00/hour
• Up to $1.50/hour shift differential, depending on the shift worked

What You'll Do

• Assist with the intake process for new clients entering the program.
• Positively engage with clients and provide support throughout their treatment experience.
• Maintain accurate and detailed client logs and shift communication records.
• Listen to and respond appropriately to client concerns and needs.
• Help maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic environment.
• Assist with crisis intervention and client interventions as appropriate.
• Coordinate and support client activities and programming.
• Ensure clients follow their daily treatment schedules.
• Support and reinforce treatment plan objectives.
• Conduct required bed checks and accurately complete shift documentation.
• Monitor medication lines and assist with maintaining an organized medication process.
• Conduct searches during intake or when otherwise required by program policy.
• Monitor clients for safety and medical needs and promptly communicate concerns to clinical or medical staff.
• Maintain appropriate therapeutic boundaries and follow the Staff Code of Ethics.
• Communicate effectively with the treatment team and other staff members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Previous mental health, substance use, behavioral health, or residential treatment experience preferred, but not required.
• Experience facilitating groups or activities is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging or crisis situations.
• Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Reliable, organized, flexible, and adaptable.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
