Job summary

Wellstone is seeking a Behavioral Tech in Alabama to care for residents in a group home setting. You will work Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM–12:00 AM, supporting living, social, and financial skills under the therapeutic team.

You’ll document progress in the EHR and assist with meals, safety, and daily routines. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a clean driving record, and relevant certifications (CPR, CPI, SAMA, MAC1) or ability to obtain them, plus strong communication skills and

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Computer skills and familiarity with basic software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Clean driving record (3-year MVR) required and valid driver’s license.
  • CPR, SAMA, MAC1 certifications or ability to obtain them.
  • CPI training or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and supervision in the group home in the absence of the House Supervisor.
  • Deliver consistent instruction, encouragement, and reinforcement for residents.
  • Document residents' progress in the electronic health record.
  • Coordinate activities and assist with nutritious meal preparation.
  • Complete staff notes, incident reports, and shift observations promptly.
  • Promote safety and housekeeping, assist with emergencies and drills.
  • Administer medications and maintain related documentation.
  • Attend required trainings and complete time sheets and leave requests on time.

Job description

Job Description: As a Behavioral Tech, employees care for clients in a group home setting working with individuals on living skills, social and financial skills. They follow treatment directions while providing key support to our therapeutic team. Our BHTs will learn proper documentation techniques and other state/federal standards followed by the Alabama Department of Mental Health (ADMH).
