Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to provide intensive, individualized mental health interventions in community settings for children and adolescents with psychiatric diagnoses.

This position is part-time and hourly, offering a flexible schedule up to 40 hours weekly, with potential evening and weekend shifts. The BHT works under a Qualified Mental Health Professional, participates in an interdisciplinary team, and helps deliver treatment goals to

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the following: HS diploma with 40+ hours training, or 2+ years experience in behavioral health services, or relevant certifications.
• Certification in BH or behavior analysis is acceptable; RBT is also listed as an option.
• Previous youth/adolescent experience is preferred; strong communication skills required.
• Proficiency with MS 365; familiarity with an EHR system is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide intense individualized mental health interventions in community-based settings.
• Work under supervision of a Qualified Mental Health Professional and join a treatment team.
• Implement treatment goals to help youths function in the least restrictive setting.
• Engage with families, schools, and community partners as needed.

Status:Part Time Hourly

FLSA classification:Non-Exempt

Hourly Rate: $18.00

Availability: Flexible Schedule - up to 40 hours weekly - May include evenings and weekends.

Summary of the Position:Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is a non-traditional way of providing intense individualized mental health interventions and support services in a variety of community-based settings to children/adolescents with psychiatric diagnoses and their families.

• These settings include, but are not limited to home, school, community settings (camp, daycare, etc.).
• The BHT is supervised by a Qualified Mental Health Professional, participates as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team and implements specific treatment goals.
• Their goal is to implement sound clinical interventions and supportive services to enable children/adolescents to maintain and function to the best of their ability in the least restrictive setting.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Must meet one of the following:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and ability to completed 40+ hours of training OR
• Minimum of 2 years of experience of provision of behavioral health servicesOR
• Behavioral Health Certification or Behavior Analysis Certification from accredited organizationOR
• Certification as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT)
• Previous experience working with youth/adolescence is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Computer skills: proficient in Microsoft 365 is preferred; experience using an electronic health record system (EHR) is a plus.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance coverage is required.
• Bilingual (Spanish speaking) is a plus.
