Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to provide intense individualized interventions for children and adolescents in home, school, and community settings. The role reports to a Qualified Mental Health Professional and participates in an interdisciplinary team to implement care plans.

Availability is for flexible hours up to 40 per week, at a rate of $18.00 per hour. Requires transportation, valid license, and preferred bilingual Spanish.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 40+ hours of training, OR 2+ years of behavioral health experience, OR Behavioral Health Certification, OR RBT certification.
• Experience working with at-risk youth and families.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; EHR experience is a plus.
• Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide intense individualized mental health interventions and support to children/adolescents and their families.
• Work in diverse settings (home, school, community) under supervision of a QMHP.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary treatment team to implement treatment goals.
• Aim to enable youths to function in the least restrictive setting.

Job description

Status:Part Time Hourly FLSA classification:Non-Exempt

Summary of the Position:Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is a non-traditional way of providing intense individualized mental health interventions and support services in a variety of community-based settings to children/adolescents with psychiatric diagnoses and their families.

• These settings include, but are not limited to home, school, community settings (camp, daycare, etc.).
• The BHT is supervised by a Qualified Mental Health Professional, participates as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team and implements specific treatment goals.
• Their goal is to implement sound clinical interventions and supportive services to enable children/adolescents to maintain and function to the best of their ability in the least restrictive setting.

Availability to work flexible hours up to 40 hours per week.

Hourly Rate: $18.00 per hour

Qualifications/Requirements:

Must meet one of the following:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and ability to completed 40+ hours of training OR
• Minimum of 2 years of experience of provision of behavioral health services OR
• Behavioral Health Certification or Behavior Analysis Certification from accredited organization OR
• Certification as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT)
• Experience working with at-risk youth and families
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience using an Electronic Health Record System (EHR) is a plus.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance coverage
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
