Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. seeks a Behavioral Health Technician to provide intensive, community-based mental health interventions for children and adolescents.

The role supports families across home, school, and community settings under supervision of a Qualified Mental Health Professional, with flexible hours including evenings. Requirements include high school diploma or higher, related certifications, experience in behavioral health, RBT certification, and a valid driver’s license;

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and ability to complete 40+ hours of training
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in providing behavioral health services
  • Behavioral Health Certification or Behavior Analysis Certification from an accredited organization
  • RBT certification preferred or required
  • RBT 40-hour training course will be required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; EHR experience a plus
  • CPR/FA certification is a plus
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus

Job description

Summary of the Position: Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is a non-traditional way of providing intense individualized mental health interventions and support services in a variety of community-based settings to children/adolescents with psychiatric diagnoses and their families.

  • These settings include, but are not limited to home, school, community settings (camp, daycare, etc.).
  • The BHT is supervised by a Qualified Mental Health Professional, participates as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team, and implements specific treatment goals.
  • Their goal is to implement sound clinical interventions and supportive services to enable children/adolescents to maintain and function to the best of their ability in the least restrictive setting.

Availability: Up to 40 hours per week. Flexible schedule; non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends.

RBT Bonus is Available

Hourly Rate $18.00

Qualifications/Requirements:

Must meet one of the following:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and ability to completed 40+ hours of training OR
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience of provision of behavioral health services OR
  • Behavioral Health Certification or Behavior Analysis Certification from accredited organization OR
  • Certification as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT)
  • RBT 40 hour training course will be required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Experience using an electronic health record (EHR) system is a plus.
  • CPR/FA Certification is a plus.
  • Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance coverage
  • Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) is a plus.
