COMHAR's Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) located in Philadelphia supports children, youth, and young adults with mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs. Services are provided across various settings (home, school, community) to help reduce or replace problematic behaviors with positive, socially appropriate ones, emphasizing family engagement throughout.
The Behavioral Health Technician offers one-to-one mental health interventions to children or adolescents with serious emotional disturbances to prevent restrictive services or out-of-home placements, promoting psychosocial growth. These services, recommended by psychologists or psychiatrists and approved by CBH, are short-term with minimal disruption to the child's routine. The technician collaborates with families, teachers, and school personnel to develop skills for integrating children into normal activities. Interventions include:
