Description

Malvern Community Health Services (MCHS) seeks to support children, adults, and their families, role models, caregivers, friends, and members of their spiritual community of choice, to have access to individualized, strength-based, trauma-informed behavioral health supports and services that foster choices so that they may enjoy meaningful relationships and a life worth living in our communities.

MCHS is currently accepting applications for Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT). As a BHT, you will work with children and adolescents, one-on-one, and also provide support for families, caregivers, and schools, primarily in the Philadelphia School District area.

Position Summary

Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT) provide specialized behavioral services directed by a detailed treatment plan and under the supervision of a BC, who is responsible for the treatment plan.

Essential Position Functions
  • Provide one-on-one behavioral interventions to clients.
  • Assist parents/caregivers and/or teachers with the implementation of behavior plans.
  • Monitor client behaviors as outlined in the treatment plan; intervene and redirect challenging behaviors.
  • Collaborate with team members and work in transferring skills to others.
  • Attend monthly treatment team meetings with clients, families, and the treatment team.
  • Provide services within authorized hours and complete all paperwork within policy timeframes.
  • Attend staff meetings and mandatory training sessions, complying with all IBHS policies.
  • Complete required training hours annually: 20 hours for experienced BHTs; 39 hours within the first six months for new BHTs.
  • For less than six months of experience, receive six hours of on-site assessment and assistance; for more than six months, three hours.
  • Develop therapeutic rapport with clients, families, and the treatment team.
  • Attend weekly supervision with a master's level mental health professional.
  • Travel to client sites as required (100% travel).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, and either:
    • Completed a 40-hour RBT training (free of charge), or
    • At least two years of experience in Behavioral Health Services.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a human service field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Education), and either:
    • Completed a 40-hour RBT training, or
    • At least two years of experience in Behavioral Health Services.
