Job summary

The Wood Group in Midland, TX is seeking a compassionate PRN Behavioral Health Technician to support residents in our mental health facility. This role offers overnight and daytime shifts, flexible scheduling, and an opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

You will help ensure safety, assist with meals, supervise medication procedures with meticulous documentation, and treat all residents with dignity and respect.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in behavioral health preferred
• Previous mental health or social services experience advantageous
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to stay calm in high-pressure situations
• Knowledge of safety protocols and crisis intervention

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times
• Oversee meals and follow facility menu as posted
• Complete items on the facility chore sheet as directed by the administrator
• Treat all residents with dignity and respect
• Supervise medication procedures and document narcotics counts
• Maintain daily chart documentation

Behavioral Health Technician (PRN) - Mental Health Facility

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated PRN Behavioral Health Technician to join our mental health facility. This role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals receiving mental health support. • Overnight & Daytime PRN staff ( needed for call outs)

Below are a few job duties to expect as a Behavioral Health Tech:

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents at all times.
• Cook and serve meals. Follow the facility menu as posted.
• Responsible for completing items listed on the facility Chore Sheet as directed by the administrator.
• Responsible for assuring all residents are treated with dignity and respect.
• Responsible for the supervision of all resident medication procedures. Ensure that all residents receive their proper medication at the proper time. All narcotics will be counted and documented on each shift.
• Daily chart documentation
• Be familiar with The Wood Group's policy and procedures to include employee handbook.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in behavioral health or related field preferred
• Prior experience in mental health, behavioral health, or social services is advantageous
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others
• Knowledge of behavioral health practices, safety protocols, and crisis intervention techniques
