Job summary

Centurion seeks a Behavioral Health Technician for the Graham Correctional Facility in Hillsboro, IL. The role involves providing therapeutic support, conducting psychosocial groups, and managing crisis situations in a correctional mental health setting.

You will participate in treatment planning, assist with telepsychiatry operations, and help with daily living activities education while maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Science required.
• Two years or more experience providing activities programming for patients who have a serious mental illness preferred.
• Current CPR/AED certification required.
• Must pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic support services and participate in treatment-focused programming.
• Lead psychosocial groups, crisis management, social rehabilitation, and leisure activities.
• Deliver formal education to patients in activities of daily living.
• Assist in records and data management for mental health treatment and scheduling.
• Support telepsychiatry services and follow leadership directives.

Behavioral Health Technician responsibilities include providing therapeutic support services, including treatment focused programming, psychosocial groups, crisis management, social rehabilitation, and leisure activities, as well as providing formal education to patients in routine activities of daily living (hygiene, eating, recreation, etc.). Behavioral Health Technicians, also assist in the preparation and maintenance of records and data management pertaining to the mental health treatment and scheduling of patients. This includes providing support for the operation of telepsychiatry services.
