Cognito LLC, a Planned Systems International (PSI) joint venture, is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support the ICE Health Services Corps (IHSC) at the Montgomery Processing Center in Conroe, TX.
As a civilian contractor working for Cognito, you will utilize your abilities as a Behavioral Health Technician to provide the safe delivery of high-quality healthcare to those in ICE custody. The ICE Health Services Corps (IHSC) exists within the organizational structure of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) under the supervision of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The United States Public Health Service (USPHS) Commissioned Corps Officers, civil service staff, and contractors comprise the healthcare professionals working together to provide quality healthcare services. IHSC serves as the medical experts for ICE for detainee healthcare.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Provide mental health screenings, patient care management, and facilitate psycho-educational groups.
- Augment behavioral services with patient education, wellness checks, sleep checks, behavioral observations, and compliance coaching.
- Consult with Behavioral Health Provider (BHP) to monitor compliance, promote safety, and patient engagement.
- Schedule appointments, document in electronic Health Records (eHR), and coordinate follow-up care.
- Assist in providing direct services, health data collection, behavior observations, sleep hygiene, activities of daily living, patient safety, and risk monitoring.
- Maintain knowledge of behavioral health interventions, psychotropic medications, and side effects.
- Facilitate therapeutic groups and provide individual patient education and care.
- Assist in developing behavioral interventions and gather patient care information.
- Document clinical observations and perform wellness checks.
- Manage crisis situations and conduct program schedule management.
- Chaperone and record vital signs for telehealth appointments.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and adhere to applicable standards and regulations.
- Maintain proficiency in electronic health records.
Minimum Requirements
- Associates degree in behavioral science or related field.
- Certification: AAPT level three within 12 months, current BLS or CPR certification.
- Two years of experience in a mental health or healthcare setting.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening, current immunizations.
- Knowledge of therapeutic communication, mental health screening, and behavioral interventions.
- Proficiency in electronic health records, web-based tools, and English communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and cultural awareness skills.
- Spanish-speaking preferred but not required.
