Job summary

Carrollton Springs, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician in Carrollton, Texas. This role supports nursing administration, supervises sitters, coordinates staffing, and ensures quality care in a fast-paced mental health setting.

The position requires critical thinking, the ability to work under stress, and a high school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred). CPR and CPI training within 30 days are required before patient contact.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of duties to support nursing administration. Reviews staffing needs daily, calculating staffing requirements based on flexible staffing patterns and patient acuity and maintains record of reports.
• Monitors and supervises Patient Sitters.
• Reviews staffing levels to resolve staffing shortages using flexible staffing plan as guidelines for staffing requirements.
• Informs appropriate Director when staffing issues are anticipated and/or occur.
• Coordinates and supervises staffing assignments for patient sitters; provides recruitment, direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to Patient Sitters.
• Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Ensures quality of services and facilitates staff development programs.
• Ensures staff compliance with policies and procedures.
• Composes, types, and transcribes correspondence, forms, reports, presentation materials and other written communications.
• Receives, screens, and routes visitors and calls; responds to inquiries and problems.
• Schedules/coordinates meetings, conferences, events, and appointments.
• Maintains calendars, files and office equipment.
• Orders and stocks supplies.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

How You'll Contribute

• In timely manner, informs appropriate Director when staffing issues are anticipated and/or occur.
• Determines, coordinates and supervises staffing assignments for patient sitters. Provides recruitment, direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to Patient Sitters.
• Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs.
• Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Composes, types, and transcribes correspondence, forms, reports, presentation materials and other written communications.
• Receives, screens, and routes visitors and telephone calls. Responds to, escalates, and follows up on inquiries and problems as appropriate.
• Schedules/coordinates meetings, conferences, special events, and appointments.
• Maintains assigned calendar(s).
• Maintains files and office equipment.
• Orders and stocks supplies.
• Additional duties as assigned and needed.

Carrollton Springs is a behavioral health hospital located in Carrollton, Texas, part of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metro Area north of Dallas, TX. We provide inpatient and outpatient programming for those facing mental health and addiction challenges. We treat adults aged 18+, as well as provide specialized programming for active-duty military, veterans, first responders, and other high-risk frontline professionals. Programs include inpatient mental health and addiction treatment, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and Help for Heroes.
