Job summary

The Wood Group in Texas seeks a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to support residents and help them achieve stability through structured care. The role emphasizes safety, empathy, and patient-centered support within our mental health programs.

You will assist with meals, supervise medication procedures, document charts daily, and follow facility policies. Weekend overnight shifts are available (4pm–8am).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Texas Driver's License is required.
• Additional certification in behavioral health or related field preferred.
• Prior experience in mental health, behavioral health, or social services is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
• Knowledge of behavioral health practices, safety protocols, and crisis intervention techniques.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents at all times.
• Cook and serve meals. Follow the facility menu as posted.
• Responsible for completing items listed on the facility Chore Sheet as directed by the administrator.
• Responsible for assuring all residents are treated with dignity and respect.
• Responsible for the supervision of all resident medication procedures. Ensure that all residents receive their proper medication at the proper time. All narcotics will be counted and documented on each shift.
• Daily chart documentation.
• Be familiar with The Wood Group’s policy and procedures to include employee handbook.

• Saturday & Sunday - Overnight shift (4pm to 8am)

• Below are a few job duties to expect as a Behavioral Health Tech:
