Job summary

SUN Behavioral Columbus LLC is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to support direct patient care under RN/LPN supervision in a psychiatric unit.

You will monitor patients, document vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, and participate in safety and de-escalation interventions to maintain a therapeutic environment.

This role emphasizes teamwork, compliance with HIPAA, and accurate reporting to the care team to enhance treatment outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR and hospital de-escalation certification preferred.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Record vital signs and intake/output; notify RN of changes.
• Observe patients' behavior and mental status; report changes.
• Assist with patient safety checks and restraining procedures per policy.
• Escort patients for activities, meals, visitation, and tests.
• Document in EHR and participate in treatment team meetings.
• Assist with ADLs and provide general nursing care as needed.
