Job summary

Community Counseling Center in Cape Girardeau, MO is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician - Ridgeway to provide high-support care for women living with chronic mental health conditions, including bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression and personality disorders.

You will maintain a safe, trauma-informed environment; support daily living activities, lead or assist groups, teach coping skills, document observations, perform safety checks, and assist with medications and client transportation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED/HSE required.
• MO Class E Driver's License required (written test).
• Reliable transportation and ability to meet motor vehicle standards.
• Auto insurance current and continuous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, trauma-informed environment.
• Support clients with daily living skills (hygiene, meals, medications).
• Lead or assist with therapeutic and recreational groups.
• Teach emotional regulation, coping skills, and healthy habits.
• Document observations and interventions accurately.
• Perform safety checks of rooms, belongings, and grounds.
• Provide client transportation as needed.
• Assist during behavioral crises and follow emergency protocols.
• Track and distribute medications under agency policies.

Job description

Behavioral Health Technician - Ridgeway

Location: Cape Girardeau, MO

Pay: $17.38 - $19.78/hour + shift differentials

Note: Floating BHT is $18.59 - 20.99/hour due to flexibility needs.

Community Counseling Center offers shift differentials for BHT staff who work an Evening or Overnight shift at its residential facilities. Evening Shift: + $0.50/hour per hour worked on Evenings. Overnight Shift: +$1.00/hour per hour worked on Overnights

Shifts Available

Full-Time

Monday, Tuesday 4:00pm - 12:00am, Saturday/Sunday 7:00am - 7:00pm

PRN - Note: Not a full time position

Typically 1 shift per week, any shift depending on need and your availability

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED/HSE
• Must have or obtain a MO Class E Driver's License (no driving test - written test only)
• Must meet agency motor vehicle standards and have reliable transportation
• Continuous auto insurance required

Note: The Class E is just a written required computer test. No Driving Test has to be taken for the Class E. Then you would go to the DMV after the test is taken (passed) and transfer the license over to that Class E.
