Job summary

The Farley Center in Williamsburg, Virginia is seeking a Behavioral Health Tech (MHT) for the 3p-11:30p shift with rotating weekends. This full-time role supports a multidisciplinary treatment team, monitors client behaviors, and assists in crisis situations.

The position offers tuition assistance and comprehensive benefits after 30 days of employment. Responsibilities include client supervision, safety checks, data recording, and participation in therapeutic activities.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.
• Knowledge of common psychiatric disorders and/or dual diagnosis and various treatment modalities of the population served preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the wellbeing of clients and provides a safe, positive, supportive, and structured environment.
• Conducts safety checks and follows supervision guidelines.
• Interacts with clients, documents observations, and reports changes to supervisors.
• Promotes participation in therapy groups and activities.
• Records vital signs and communicates significant changes to nursing staff.
• Applies de-escalation techniques to manage emotions and behaviors.
• Assists with incident reporting and transportation as needed.
