Avera Behavioral Health Center-Sioux Falls is hiring for a Behavior Health Technician to join a multidisciplinary team in the Behavioral Health Senior Unit. The role involves supporting nursing care, assisting with daily living activities, and contributing to patient safety and communication with the care team.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates effective communication skills to create a positive work environment.
• Participates in the daily inter-disciplinary treatment team meeting as needed, providing input on patient behaviors.
• Implements suicide precautions as needed.
• Assesses changes in patient condition/behavior and notifies RN or Counselor.
• Assists with activities of daily living and basic nursing care procedures.
• Maintains accurate records in the patient EMR.
• Assesses agitation and participates in behavioral management.
• Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Assists with medication monitoring and education.
• Ensures patient valuables are properly handled.
