Job summary

The Avera Behavioral Health Center-Sioux Falls is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join a multidisciplinary team providing routine patient care and support in a 20-bed Senior Unit. The role involves mobility, meals, patient comfort, and coordinating with nurses and physicians to ensure quality care.

You will work rotating days/evenings/nights and weekends, helping patients with conditions like dementia and mood disorders while maintaining safety and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work the hours specified and perform essential job functions.
• High school diploma or GED; CNA licensing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, direct patient care including ambulating, bathing, feeding, and daily living activities.
• Responds to patient calls, manages supplies, and coordinates with departments for appointments.
• Greets patients, answers inquiries, assists with messages, gifts, mail, and errands.
• Assists with transporting patients, measurements, and specimen collection as needed.
• Maintains patient rooms, bed linens, and routine cleaning; supports safety and confidentiality.
• Performs clerical duties related to admissions, transfers, and charting.

Education
