Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Substance BHT/Driver for our Outpatient Program in Metairie, LA. You will support clinical teams with admissions, transportation, meals, and admin tasks, while engaging clients in a supportive recovery environment.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, CPR certification, and at least 1 year in the treatment industry. A positive, compassionate attitude is essential to help clients on their journey.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience in the treatment industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support to medical and clinical teams (admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision, phones, etc.).
• Engage and build rapport with clients to create a warm recovery environment.
• Monitor clients and enforce policies to ensure safety of clients and staff.
• Record and escalate any critical communication/incidents promptly.
• Fulfill administrative duties (shift documentation, inventory, meetings, office support).
• Monitor transportation schedule and safely transport clients for admit, discharge and appointments.
• Collect and deliver external appointment documentation and lab specimens as necessary.
• Engage clients on peer support level during transport and assist with luggage.
• Ensure vehicle is well-maintained, fully fueled and ready for use.

What You'll Do

• Provide day-to-day operational support to medical and clinical teams (admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision, phones etc.)

What We're Looking For

• High School diploma or GED preferred


• Valid Driver's license and CPR certification preferred


• If in recovery, a minimum one - year period of sustained sobriety required


• Strong interpersonal and multitasking skills

• Extensive knowledge of all motor vehicle laws
