The position requires a minimum Bachelor’s in psychology, special education, or related field, with basic ABA knowledge and RBT training hours within 90 days.

Qualifications

Job description

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Health Support Provider (BHSP) will provide tier two and three interventions within the multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) under the direction of a licensed master’s level clinician at Genesee Intermediate School District. These initiatives typically involve working with local public-school districts in developing communication, social, functional, and pre-academic skills as well as increasing appropriate behavior.

Essential Duties (May include, but not limited to):
  1. Work alongside a behavioral health support team across local school systems.
  2. Respond to assignments provided by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and the behavioral health team.
  3. Model appropriate support for staff by working with students within the tier 2 and 3 system to provide intensive behavioral instruction, including natural environment teaching, small group instruction, and Skill-Based Treatment.
  4. Provide support and modeling to staff to make the most of their efforts in making instructional strategies universal across all areas of the students’ school environment.
  5. Support teams in establishing data collection systems by modeling and collecting data alongside local school district staff and behavioral health provider.
  6. Accept feedback and fidelity checks in a professional manner and respond appropriately to supervision.
  7. Effectively communicate and collaborate with teachers, support staff, paraprofessionals, and administrators.
  8. Use professional judgement to respond to program requests and needs.
  9. Maintain student confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information and adhere to all FERPA, rules, and guidelines.
  10. Participate in regular meetings and training.
  11. Maintain the high ethical standards as denoted by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB©).

Qualifications:
Education:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in psychology, special education, social work, or closely related field preferred.

Experience:

Basic knowledge of ABA and experience implementing behavioral techniques strongly preferred. Must complete RBT trainings hours within 90 days of hire (if not already certified or have taken comparable coursework). Capable of actively playing with children in a variety of settings.

Skills/Other:

Ability to accept supervision and directing. Ability to work creatively and skillfully with students. Communicate effectively with students and staff. Ability to utilize district technology and work to maintain proficiency, as required skillsets change with technology and/or needs of the district. Present a professional self-image. Communicate professionally, effectively and in a timely fashion. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet assigned deadlines. Exhibit dependability. Interact positively with caregivers, teachers and school staff. Cooperate with other staff. Follow district health and safety procedures. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. Demonstrate physical stamina necessary for repetitive stooping, squatting, bending, lifting, walking, kneeling, and reaching while maintaining personal balance and stability; implement established behavior improvement intervention plans and perform the essential job duties. Must have reliable means of transportation. Punctuality and good attendance are requirements for the position. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times. Exhibit emotional stability, exercise good judgment and decision making.
