Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Baton Rouge is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to support the Director of Nursing by coordinating administrative processes for hiring and staffing nursing personnel. You will manage applications, ensure documentation, and help schedule and educate MHTs and Milieu Managers to maintain adequate unit coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• College education desirable.
• Experience working with psychiatric patients in an inpatient setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate nursing staff coverage and coordinate staffing across units.
• Collect and communicate all special time requests from nursing personnel.
• Track attendance, absences, call-ins, and coverage arrangements.
• Assist with coordinating the hire process for nursing personnel; mentor MHTs and Milieu Managers; schedule orientation.
• Document, graph, and report demographics related to nursing personnel; provide performance feedback to the Director of Nursing.
• Maintain knowledge of procedures; serve as back-up for units as needed; ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Maintain on-call availability during evenings, nights, and weekends to ensure staff coverage.
• Assist with posting memos and maintaining memo logs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
