Job summary

Banner Health in Mesa, Arizona is seeking a Night shift Behavioral Health Specialist to join the Clinical Care Operations team. The role will float to different units within Banner Desert Medical Center, focusing on safety checks, ADL assistance, milieu management, and one-on-one observations.

The position runs 6:00pm–6:30am for 3 shifts per week, including weekends/holidays on a rotating basis. A weekend differential of $1/hour is offered, with self-scheduling for additional flexibility.

Qualifications

• Required Bachelor’s in a behavioral health field; or HS diploma with 1 year inpatient behavioral health care experience.
• BLS certification is required and age requirements apply.
• Experience with patient safety monitoring and basic nursing tasks is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing and ADL assistance under RN supervision.
• Conduct patient rounds and monitor physical and mental status.
• Document observations and interventions in the medical record.
• Maintain safe, therapeutic environment and respond to crisis appropriately.
• Identify aggressive or crisis situations and assist with de-escalation and restraint/seclusion as needed.
• Assist in admission, discharge and transfer documentation.
