Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Behavioral Health Specialist I at the Richmond State Supported Living Center. The role supports psychiatric services, maintains data systems, and helps ensure compliance with care standards under supervision of the Chief Psychiatrist.

Responsibilities include chart reviews, data analysis, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care. Strong data handling and Microsoft Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or LVN licensure with 1 year of experience in developmental/mental or physical disabilities.
• Associate degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience using computer databases, word processing, or spreadsheets.
• Prefer experience participating in health care related interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Attend and support SSLC psychiatric care planning, monitor data in resident charts, and ensure treatment plans are followed.
• Develop and maintain clinic and scheduling systems for quarterly and emergency clinics.
• Create and update databases, reports, and documents for regulatory compliance.
• Assist in preparing administrative reports and monitoring materials; support data-collection efforts.
• Coordinate communications with team members across Behavioral Health, Medical, and other departments.
