Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission is seeking a Health Assistant to support behavioral health services at Richmond State Supported Living Center. This role focuses on implementing treatment strategies, collecting data, and supporting an interdisciplinary team to improve wellness and independence for residents.

The position requires experience in psychology-related work, the ability to train staff, and collaboration across care teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in psychological work is preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with psychology or related field coursework is preferred.
• Experience teaching, training or coaching others is preferred.
• Experience participating as a member of a multidisciplinary team is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attends regular work and may follow a specific or rotating shift schedule.
• Assists in development of treatment and training strategies and therapy.
• Contributes to care plans by gathering data from care and clinical staff.
• Completes behavioral, psychiatric and adaptive skills assessments as assigned.
• Trains staff in PBSPs/SAPs and Safe Use of Restraint when necessary.
• Maintains contact with direct care and professional staff to support care plans.
• Collects and reports behavioral and restraint data as needed.
• Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Administers assessments as needed by supervisors.
