Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Behavioral Health Specialist V to deliver counseling services for individuals in state-supported living centers. You will conduct assessments, develop counseling plans, and work within interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality care.

The role involves data collection, program evaluation, and training staff to apply counseling plans. It requires a master’s degree and may include licensure considerations; telework is not available for this

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, behavior analysis, education, or related discipline.
• At least 6 months experience with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• Eligible for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver counseling services including assessments and therapeutic interventions.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate counseling plans.
• Train staff to generalize therapeutic changes and provide feedback.
