Job summary

MiraVista in Holyoke, MA is seeking a Security Officer to protect people and property on the hospital campus, opening the facility, operating the metal detector, checking IDs, and monitoring the parking areas to prevent losses and chaos.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma.
• Minimum of one year experience in security or police functions.
• Excellent depth perception, and side vision.
• Must be free of night blindness and be able to listen and hear machinery sound changes, whistles, cries for help, screams, alarms, and traffic noises.
• Candidates must be able to produce a concise and accurate report.
• Must be physically able to assist with the restraint of patients during crisis intervention and be able to problem solve on an independent basis.

Responsibilities

• Open the facility as well as man the metal detector and check IDs.
• Maintain order in the facility and assist with crowd control.
• Observe the parking lot and monitor for security incidents.
• Respond to emergencies and follow the Emergency Operations Plan and Security Operation Plan.
