Job summary

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts seeks a Security Team Specialist I for the Veterans Home in Holyoke to help provide a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors. Under supervision, you will patrol the campus, monitor security cameras, investigate incidents and assist with emergency response.

Qualifications include ability to prepare reports, maintain records, communicate clearly, and interact calmly under pressure. CPR/AED certification may be required within 2 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Patrol interior, exterior and adjacent areas to ensure security.
• Screen visitors, inspect rooms and belongings, control crowds and investigate incidents.
• Direct traffic, assist disabled motorists, report suspicious activity and maintain logs.
• Write activity reports and assist in evacuations or firefighting operations.
