Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is seeking a Behavioral Health School Based Consultant for the McKeesport Area School District. This 10-month calendar position offers a pay range of $20.86–$25.31 per hour and a weekday schedule.

You will provide strength-based behavioral health coaching to students, families, and school staff, support coping skill development, and work with caregivers and teachers to implement intervention plans.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a social services field and 2+ years experience in a school or higher level of care.
• Excellent communication and computer skills.
• Current valid PA Class I driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle required.
• Act 33, 168 and 34 clearances and Department of Education/Fingerprints required.

Responsibilities

• Provide strength-based behavioral health and wellness coaching to students, families, and school staff in assigned settings.
• Help students develop coping skills and positive behavior strategies to improve academic and social-emotional outcomes.
• Respond to concerning behaviors with de-escalation and coordinate with school staff to ensure safety.
• Participate in student case conferences and collaborate with caregivers, school personnel, and treatment team members.

Position: Behavioral Health School Based Consultant

Pay Range: $20.86 - $25.31per hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday, daylight (10-month calendar position)

Location: McKeesport Area School District

What to Expect:

In our Children and Family Services department, we provide a continuum of behavioral health care for children, adolescents, and their families that include assessment, treatment, referral and school-based prevention and referrals. All services are family focused and are provided in the office, schools, home or other community settings.

As a Behavioral Health School Based Coach, you will provide strength based, positive behavior strategies and wellness coaching for students in the schools. Serving as a member of our Prevention/SAP Liaison program, the Behavioral Health School Based Coach position is designed to:

• Provide strength-based behavioral health and wellness coaching to students, families, and school staff within assigned school settings.
• Support students in developing and utilizing coping skills and positive behavior strategies to improve academic and social-emotional outcomes.
• Respond to and support students demonstrating concerning behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques and collaborating with school staff to ensure safety.
• Participate in student case conferences and collaborate with caregivers, school personnel, and treatment team members to support student success.
• Assist in the development and implementation of behavior support plans, positive reinforcement strategies, and evidence-based interventions.
• Connect students and families to community resources and services, while maintaining timely documentation, outcome tracking, and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a social services field (i.e. social work, psychology, counseling, drug and alcohol addiction, education) AND 2 years or more experience working in a school or in higher level of care (i.e., family based, wraparound, RTF, inpatient, etc.).
• Excellent communication and computer skills.
• Current valid PA Class I driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle required.
• Act 33, 168 and 34 clearances, Department of Education Fingerprints and Department of Public Welfare Fingerprints both required.
